The EMMETT Technique

The EMMETT Technique, developed by Ross Emmett, is an effective, gentle and safe muscle release therapy. It can be used as a standalone approach or as part of a bespoke treatment to address pain and discomfort, improve body movement, restore a positive emotional outlook and improve quality of life.
It involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points on the body to release tension in muscle and muscle groups. Particular language skills are incorporated to reinforce and anchor the positive physical changes.
The EMMETT Technique is a very flexible therapy in that clients can be treated seated, standing or lying and the techniques applied directly on the skin or through clothing. This is the opposite of a “no pain, no gain” approach, as the body responds to this subtle touch in a similar way to the workings of a touch-screen, changing muscle tension and action.
